OUR hiPSC DRUG DISCOVERY PLATFORM REACHES FULL OPERATIONAL CAPACITY IN 2026!

With Britt, Naomi and Andrea joining the team, we are thrilled to announce that our hiPSC-based drug discovery and development laboratory has reached full operational status. This significant milestone represents the successful completion of our facility setup and the recruitment of two expert lab technicians and one lab manager.

With our laboratory now fully staffed, we are positioned to accelerate the development of our novel RNA therapeutics targeting cardiac regeneration. Our expanded capabilities will also enable advancement of the next-generation controllable delivery vectors, offering enhanced precision and safety of our gene therapies.

Starting on the 1st of January 2026 we proudly present Lucía Cócera Ortega as our Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Lucia brings exceptional expertise in biotechnology innovation and broad experience working with AAV technologies. Her leadership has enabled the creation and testing of controllable systems regulating gene expression. Besides that she brings enthousiasm and humour. Her leadership in Summa Biotech will be instrumental as we continue advancing our technology!

After more than two years of working at Summa Biotech with outstanding contributions, leadership and innovative ideas she has proven to be more than capable of taking on this important role. With Federica guiding the science and bringing her molecular biology expertise, we’re ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Together, we will keep moving the mission of cardiac regeneration closer to reality.
